Asda Story

Asda Story is a 3D fantasy MMORPG with cartoony graphics. Asda story is similar in style to and ROSE Online. All players start as beginners but can chose to be an Archer, Warrior, or Mage at level 5. Each of the classes has dozens of skills spread through three distinct skill lines. What keeps interesting is that there are always many quests to do.

was published in North America by Games Campus, the same company behind Xiah Rebirth and Manga Fighter. Based on this record I was not expecting much of Asda but actually found myself enjoying quite a bit. is a 3D Fantasy game with a graphic style somewhere between Fly for Fun and . earns few points for creativity, almost everything here has been done before, but Asda manages to put it all together in a very simple and enjoyable manner.

 Asda Story

Does this make me look fat?
Character creation in Asda involves picking between several hair and face styles. Players can mix and match their starting cloths from several outfits though equipment obtained in-game will quickly replace your newbie outfit. keeps things simple, all players start as ‘Beginners’ with no customization of skills or stats. Skills only become available after level 5 at which time players must become either a Warrior, Archer, or Mage. While there are only three classes, each class has access to three different skill trees. Archers can specialize in either Bows, Crossbows, or Ballistas. Warriors can master the 1 handed sword, 2 handed sword, or the spear. Mages can study Fire, Water, or Light. It is possible to spread skill points between the three skill trees but heavy investment in one seems wiser.

 Asda Story

Click to move…
Combat in is very simple. Movement and Combat are both handled by left clicking. Left click where you want to move, double left click what you want to attack. Like many MMORPGs, comes with a hot key bar that allows players to quickly use skills and preform other tasks such as picking up loot or using potions. What keeps Asda interesting is the questing. Right away players are given kill quests which unlock even more kill quests. avoids the aimless feeling many other MMORPGs produce by making sure players always have plenty of quests to do to keep them focused. Because of this heavy reliance on short quests, players will end up going back and forth between town and the hunting grounds frequently. Luckily, comes with a great map feature. By clicking ‘M’ players can open the main map which clearly marks specific locations and Quest NPCs. Players can also click anywhere on the map and watch as their characters automatically move to that location.

 Asda Story

Are you my Soul Mate?
There are several interesting features in , the most unique being the Soul Mate system. Each character can have one soul mate at a time. As two soul mates play together longer their Soul Mate level will increase which gives both players extra bonuses. Soul Mates skills include a damage buff when the mates are fighting near each other. has an auction market system called the Exchange Market where players can list items for sale for a set period of time. There is no crafting in but players can still mine for rare items and ’sowels.’ Sowels are small stones that can be inserted into equipment to give it special bonuses. Sowels allow players to customize their gear but once any piece of equipment is equipped, it becomes bound to that character and cannot be traded.

 Asda Story

A little too small
For all it offers, Asda has two major draw backs. The first is that there is no though this may not be an issue to some players. The second problem is the relatively small game world. There are a total of 2 towns, 5 ‘field’ areas, and 1 elite cave area, for a total of 8 zones. is not a very creative game but it’s simple and entertaining for those interested in a cartoonish or traditional hunting/questing MMORPG.

I have to say, this game is pretty fun. There were plenty of quests to do, you could just quest and get to a decent level without having to grind. (By grind, I mean simply fighting monsters with no goal but leveling up)

Problem was the 10% exp penalty when you died… so, quests gave huge boosts, but there were pretty much exactly enough to level you, then when you leveled, there would be more quests to get. So what do you suppose happens when there’s the exact number of quests to do, and you lose 10% when you die? If you die, you must make it up with grinding. First of all, the exp you get from monsters is pathetic, questing is the way to go. Plus you have to rest a lot, killing things your level takes a lot out of you… or maybe it won’t have to.

The class balance felt off. The archers were amazing. They did way more damage than warriors, and often time didn’t get hit, and didn’t use up that much MP. As a warrior, I’d use up a fair amount of MP, deal less damage, and since I had to melee, I’d get hurt a lot, causing a need to rest.

Overall, very fun, even if there’s games with better anime graphics out there, (not that these are bad, they’re pleasant, just some games have better) it’s worth a try. Just be very careful not to die! And be sure of what class you want to be beforehand, sucks to realize you did all that work to get to a class you hate, while watching archers waste things.

i tried this game out and… i wasn’t very pleased. there’s only like four maps you can travel between which makes the game world pretty much nothing. leveling was kinda eh, not too bad but not great if you did quests. but i was turned off by no attempt at a story, lame fetch/grind quests, and a no pvp what so ever. so what were you even playing for? once i came to that conclusion, i promptly uninstalled it.

The game is fun if you go with that whole soul mate thing in my open. And don’t be retarded about it. The partner system doesn’t have to be some odd online romance thing. Partner up with your bud or something. There are obvious benefits in this game when you do, as opposed to in games like Dream of Mirror. And yes, killing monsters can take a lot out of you, which freakin sucks when you’re a lvl 32 warrior and you have to rest after fending off 4 lvl 10 monsters. It’s retarded. Quests get boring after a while as well.

BUT if you’re thing is for community strong mmo’s, this is the way to go. Definitely fun teaming up with others and getting a partner. If you go solo, you’re likely to get bored pretty quickly.

the worst thing in this game is say like you get really far with your soulmate..then they just end it you lose all your soulmate powers ( healing, summoning , buffs)
