Audition Online Reviewed
Audition Online is a dancing game where players must hit the arrow keys shown on the screen rapidly then complete the dance move by hitting the space bar at the correct time on a sliding meter. The beat and speed of the game is based on the song being played. You’ll have zero character customization options when you first start Audition. Players can purchase new cloths using in game currency but most items in the shop are cash shop only. There is a short two-part tutorial which does a good job explaining the game play, so I recommend you play through it; it should take no more than a few minutes. Audition Online includes literally dozens of different game modes, but they are all rather similar. You just hit the arrow keys and hit the space bar. There is a 40 stage story mode available once you reach level 6 that can be a good distraction. When playing with others, you’ll likely run into people who somehow get perfects on every move, and it is probably because they are using third party cheating programs. There are a good variety of songs in Audition and they are actually modern American pop songs so the game will feel authentic in that sense. If you like rhythm timing games, you’ll enjoy Audition, but to me there seems little sense in playing Dance Dance Revolution without the dancing mat. It’s free, so give it a try if you have non-gamer guests over: they’ll probably enjoy this more than the standard RPG or shooting game.
