BB Tanks is a 2-D turn based strategy shooter. Choose from 12 different tanks, each with different strengths and weaknesses, and battle on multiple, colorful levels. BB Tanks derives its inspiration from Gunbound but is inferior in every measurable way.

BB Tanks Reviewed

The first thing you’ll notice when playing BB Tanks is how similar it looks to Gunbound. Gunbound has no monopoly on the turn based strategic shooter genre, but it is painfully obvious how desperate the designers of BB Tanks were to make their game look and feel like Gunbound. The menus, and even the lobby screen look similar. Unfortunately, the designers of BB Tanks were unable to emulate the fun-to-play aspects of Gunbound. The graphics are much worse, and the map and tank designs are ugly and simple.

The problem is that this game just isn’t fun to play. The best way to describe it is: the poor man’s version of Gunbound, but unfortunately for BB Tanks, Gunbound is also free to play. This game is still in beta, so let’s not write it off completely. I’ll be following the development of this game but unless there are radical improvements, I cannot recommend it to anyone.
