Combat Arms is published by Nexon, so it immediately has a lot to live up to, as Nexon has a reputation for publishing great games like MapleStory and Mabinogi. If you already have an account with any of Nexon’s games you can go ahead and skip the registration, as you can use your single Nexon account for all of their games. Upon opening up Combat Arms you’ll immediately be impressed by the games audio and the lag free game play.
Play three different game modes; Elimination, One Man Army and Search&Destroy mode. Elimination is the most popular and simply translates into team deathmatch. Upon death, you’ll respawn within a few seconds. Win when your team reaches a certain amount of kills. One Man Army is simply Nexon’s way of saying free for all. Whichever player reaches a set amount of kills first wins. Lastly, Search&Destroy is identical to Counter-Strike’s “plant a bomb” style game play. One team has to try planting a bomb in the target location and the opposing team has to prevent the other team from doing so.
Combat Arms plays surprisingly similar to Wolfteam and War Rock. Like Wolfteam, Players have to purchase new weapons from the store with money they’ve earned in matches and can also customize their weapons by adding new components to them. Game play also feels very similar to War Rock, but with faster game play. All three games have similar weapons and almost identical graphics.
One interesting feature about Combat Arms is the ability to customize your avatar. You can buy different helmets / clothing / glasses / etc for your character to make him stand out. If you’re going to frag people, you might as well look good doing it. Unfortunately, there are only a few items available in the game’s store as the game is still incredibly new, so expect more items and patches in the future. With a company like Nexon behind Combat Arms, expect constant updates and fun events. Combat arms is definitely one of the best MMO Shooters out there and defintiely worth downloading.

So I have been playing this since you posted it. ITs a really fun game. Only thing is, is the accuracy of the weapons. HORRIBLE. But yet ppl manage to kill me faster than anything else. Who knows, but its very addicting.
It’s a great game but there is one problem… its not for european players!(damn)
Combat arms is already dominated the MMOFPS genre. Warrock and Soldier Front has failed and now Combat Arms a game that taken us by surprise from Nexon is a really good game.
The only problem is that it takes too many shots to kill a person. With and Without armour. That could get annoying considering that the accuracy of a lot of weapons are terrible. If they fix this it would be good to for balancing with the overpowered snipers.
I love this game , it is fun and fairly easy. The only annoying thing is that you do not buy the weapons , you rent them for either a day , 3 days , a week, or a month.

I absolutely love this game. Tried it yesterday and I’m hooked. Its like the bas- er… illegitimate child of War Rock and Solider Front, with a bit of SOCOM series weapon mods.

I think this game is too easy, first time i stepped into a server i was on top of the score board with 30 kills and only died like 6 times lol there was like no learning curve. But then again i come from a counter strike 1.6 background so i guess thats why i play well at this game. The accuracy is pretty good in this game, only takes me a 3 or 4 shots to kill some one you just cant spray, just tap the fire button and fire 1 bullet at a time.

Is this worth getting? I heard that the aiming sucks and you could only rent weapons… that makes it sound…BAD. But is it really that bad?
You know what I hate about Warrock, this game , and any other FPS theres no like real military stragety its just run and gun.. dont peak around corners nothin just RUN AND GUN! I try to hide be stealthy and most of the time it works amazingly if you have 4 guys doing this with you its… WarRock was amazing when I found a server that did this.

well ive been playing this game like for a month and i was hooked onto the comp but after awhile it boringand boring so ireally dnt play tht much like b4 the games has to fix its bad lag but if u tell me i would play soldier front on ijji.
This game sucks balls. The good weapons in real life and sh1t also.
Maybe I had the settings wrong but even after i maxed out graphics players seemed to miss animation in there running, i think this was done to improve fps on crappy machines but ruins the eye candy factor of this game when charecter models dont look like there running but skipping.
insanely easy if your a sniper on that snow valley and alot of people were so the fools who picked assualt rifles were getting picked off like fish in a barrel.
It’s addicting for the first couple of days. And be warned: It’s rotten with hackers! You’ll find players half buried in the ground shooting you, or others shooting through walls, others can’t be killed even if you empty an entire clip into them, still others will kill everyone with a single shot. All these hacks can be bought (for pay) or for free all over the Internet.
The weapons are expensive in EX points and are only rented, and none of the weapons are especially strong; they’ll all let the BEST players and hackers wipe everyone else out all the time. The heavy vests and +30% helmets hardly help but unfortunately slow you down. I recommend renting extended clips and muzzles; you’ll need them to minimize your own frags, but you’ll still lose most of the time. The accuracy is terrible on all the weapons.
This game gets OLD FAST, so be prepared to have fun for a few plays. I’ve aced all FPSs since Doom, thru Quake 3 Arena, Halo 1 and 2, the Unreal Tournament series, SW: Republic Commando, and recently FarCry and Crysis. Combat Arms is totally bogus, but at least it’s free for a few days of diminishing fun.
This was my first online game I ever played and had a lot of fun. I started around Aug. 15th and played for a month until I realized that everyone seems to hack in this game. Guys were shooting out of shipping containers that you couldn’t even kill them! Then you could be hiding and someone would come around the corner and just shoot you…they knew you were there. I later found out they’re hacking….using chams which allows their targets to glow, so no matter what you’d be chased down and shot. Some guys just shot and I’d die no matter what…they were using Aimbots. I thought I was doing really good and progressing in the game but realized when I started a new patch was just put in. It only takes the hackers about a day to work around them and it’s back to no fun anymore. All in all I love this game and played it for 2-3 hours a day….but after all the hacking…I’m gonna quit for a while…I might not come back.
Dave, your experience is almost exactly like mine: a few days is all it took to go from the fun of this new game to realizing there’s something really wrong with it. I tried every weapon I could afford, paying attention to RoF, damage, and portability, and nothing mattered. But it was when I researched the Internet and found COUNTLESS PAGES offering aimbots, chams, and other cheats like God Mode that I realized Combat Arms is so flawed that it’s unfixable. I cancelled my account because there’s no sense playing a rigged game.
Back to FPS LAN parties and single player mode.
Ive been playing for a while and it quite fun.
A comment above me said the accuracy of the weapons are terrible. Thats BS!!11 I use the G36E and it accuracy is pretty good, when used properly. I figure you cant play so you just spray bullets. When I fire, i I tap the mouse button - not hold it down.
Another comment above me said it gets old fast. To me thats absolute BS!!11 First off, the updates add more and more stuff to the game. Secondly, one of the most fun aspects of the game is Clan wars. I bet you’re not even in a clan. Having Clan Wars is awesome. Its intense when up against a good clan. Its kool when coordinating attacks over Ventrilo with your clan members.
Another comment said its rotten with hackers. This is kinda true. Alot of glitches have been fixed, however some still exist. I play alot, and only run into hackers now and then.
Overall, I recommend this game.
Yeah, every serious FPS player knows about feathering the fire button. The hackers don’t care what you do, so good luck with that.
I was in clan Deadly, so guess your clan was somehow much busier. It’s pretty rare for a clan match to be available; almost all the action is One Many Army (deathmatch), Elimination (team play), and a little bit of CTF. Even with CTF the hackers were all over.
The patches seem ineffectual, judging from the amount of hacking. As for new maps, Nexon added two during my stay — Two Towers and Brushwood. The first isn’t bad but gets boring before too long, just running around a bunch of wooden floors and balconies, and Brushwood was awful: a sniper’s paradise and since the hackers were ever-present, in Elimination mode every time my team would just be pegged off as soon as they exited the caves. So bad that everyone just huddled inside. Wow, what fun. And the graphics in Brushwood especially were like from Quake or Quake 2 circa 1998.
The worst part of Combat Arms are the hackers, who’ve totally ruined this game.
this is my first online game also.i am use to fps console games,so control to me anyway cotrol is a bit difficult.trying to combat with so many hackers is frustrating,1 shot kills,seeing through walls,they take little or no damage,etc.but personally i think the game is truly fun to play,and can very addicting.having to rent all accessories is a bit far fetched,i mean no standard issue vest,helmets,goggles and so on.as far as complaints about no tactical strategy,probaly only in clan matching,unless you play on same team all the time.otherwise the game to me is more true to life than you think,really,do you think you could hold a real assualt weapon in you’re hands, pull the trigger and not have any recoil or anything like that,now that’s funny.all i’m trying to say is it is a pretty cool game,it kils time.
the aiming is ok and the gameplay is ok but the glitches r terrible.i mean ur playing and then it freezes up,so u have to leave the game and not get ur exp and money.people say its copied of soldier front but its better and way more realistic.3 out of 4
ok whne i stated this game it was cool til there was tons of hackers everywhere and yesterday oct 2 in the middle of the game it froze on me like 3 times in a row for 3 straight games and never mind that they have to a 3 hour maitnece almost evey week and it doesnet even work and there keeping stats wrong cause i had 5 fantastic but they put me down for only 2 so i do not suggest this game to anybody because i am getting call of duty four fo ronline its way better then combat arms

Overall, they are more interested in gold-plating their cocks than listening to what you, or anyone has to say.
I played for several days and reached the rank of PFC but was so disgusted with the hackers I gave up on it. Aimbots everywhere, people shooting thru walls and rocks. I hit one player in the head with a sniper rifle 9 times and he shot and killed me with one shot thru a rock.

Combat arms was, I thought a great game for FPS afficianados. However, after a couple days I realized that I was one of the few people playing without cheats or hacks or glitching. My dismal Kill/Death ratio of .44 kills for every death demoralized me to the point that I don’t want to play it ever again. Might be fun if you had the admin ability to kick those that are cheating out of your game, but you can’t do that. Might also be fun if I was one of the cheaters that was able to kill with one shot, fly, shoot through walls and ceilings….see behind walls and ceilings…be invulnerable in “GOD MODE” and with total impunity slay all those who were trying to play a game by the rules?
My first NEXON game and most definitely my last! NEXON has no class at all….I echo all of the above negative comments and loudly proclaim that if you play fairly and really want to test your skill in a FPS online multiplayer game…you should definitely NOT PLAY COMBAT ARMS!!! This game will shame and demoralize you as it has me…..

this game is pretty fun. It really REALLY needs more maps and items which you don’t have to pay for. I don’t mind the lack of eye candy I rather have less laggy players because those are a pain in the ass to hit! I actually like that the weapons aren’t that accurate too. I don’t get why people say it takes too many hits to kill someone. A head shot is instant kill. Anywhere else is like 3 to 10 hits to kill, which is perfect I think.
The biggest problem with the game is there is a couple glitches that some people abuse that give them an advantage. And also there is various aimbots and hacks that allow you to see where every player is that I find at least one person uses per match. However, there is a few players video capturing cheating players (I vid cap all cheaters) and they post the vids and report the players to the game mods which can get your account banned pretty swiftly. Still, this is a fairly annoying problem and I wish they’d do more to stop the cheating.
By far, still, the best free FPS there is.

i really do like this game, i played it at my friends house but the only thing is that i cant download it to my computer… it keeps giving me this error report thing. error code C=-40

This is a pretty good game. For those people who complain about aiming. No duh your having problems you hold down the mouse button and charge your enemy. Like other people said just stay still and push it down, not hold it down. It does kind of loose its touch after awhile, but they are making new maps and guns. I like everything about this game exept for two things.
1.You cant buy the weapons you can only rent them.
This kind of sucks because right when you get used to it, you lose it again.

The hackers,
This is more annoying than a problem. There will always be hackers in pretty much any Multiplayer games. Thats life, But I haven’t noticed any hackers expept for this annoying glitch where you can go under the city and shoot everyone. As far as I know its been fixed. But take it for it is. Just because there are a few hackers, doesn’t mean you should quit the game.
Bearman that hasn’t gotten fixed. I got klled by someone like that. Its a pretty goood game.

I like the fact that all of you posted with honesty ,i play only FPS war games, I HATE (with a pasion) hackers and exployters. I do not have this game and will never buy it or play it. IT seems that no matter what online game there is out there SOME jerk has to RUIN the experience. This game from what your telling me is worse than Day of Defeat source THANK YOU ALL for saving me the greif of TRYING to have fun on, BECAUSE if I did play it ,i would be posting the same review as most of you guys. Also BF2 is even worse than dod source, Valve dose make a better game,and they try to help with most of the problems outhere.
