Gaia Online-Competition for closed Beta testing

Gaia online, which has been in heavy development since 2007, is due for close beta testing in the summer of this year. The company has released a press statement saying that all of those attending the New York Comic-Con event this year in April will be given the chance to win access to the closed beta testing.

Since online games began to get a prominent hold within the gaming industry, a battle between browser games and downloadable games emerged. Both have various pros and cons that can either make or break the game depending on what kind of content they offer and the amount of people using them. Some of the more popular games will expand and will often become laggish on a browser based game while downloadable games can often just be a big waste of time as when you start them up you discover that you just spend four hours downloading a piece of crap.

Teen Threatens WoW boss with suicide

A young teenager has been arrested after comments he made towards a WoW rep he was having a chat with. The young boy who cannot be named for legal reasons was talking to the Blizzard representitive when he made a comment about how the company’s game was “all he had to live for”. He also confidd that he was suicidal and that the game must not end.

Last year, a small Korean developer made waves when they released a smaller version(by the name of ‘Puppeteers’) into the market for a limited amount of time. The game caught the eye of many of the industry’s top bosses and figures. As of now the company has renamed the game Tears Saga and are currently testing and developing the game further in order to bring about the best possible result when the game is due for closed beta testing in mid-2009.
