Grand Chase Review
Grand Chase is published by Ntreev, the same folks behind Trickster Online. The graphics themselves are not very impressive in Grand Chase but the style is unique. Grand Chase ditches the camerae in the sky and instead plays as a side scroller. Like Trickster, the anime inspired graphics may be too cutesy for some older gamers but behind those graphics lies a good deal of content. The game most closely resembling Grand Chase is likely Tcrew. Both are cooperative action adventure dungeon crawlers.
There are three characters to play as a new player but eventually others become available as players level up the original three. In total there are currently 8 classes but more are currently in the works. The 8 classes available now are: Knight, Archer, Magician, Spell Knight, Spearman, Crossbow, Alchemist, and Dragon Knight. Each player can alternative between the characters he has unlocked and each one gains experience independently.
The basic concept of Grand Chase is for 2-4 players to work together to clear dozens of multi-roomed dungeons, each with a boss at the end. This sort of game play is rarely seen in free MMOs which is unfortunate since these sorts of games were popular once upon a time. (think Gauntlet Legends) There are a total of three continents, each with multiple levels, and each level has several difficulty settings. Oddly, most of these stages are not available to new players, who must first complete each stage SEVERAL times in order to finish missions. Missions are quests which usually require the player to play a specific stage but unlike most games the quest rewards in Grand Chase are very helpful and important. Entire armor sets are given away by completing beginner stages.
But even with the colorful graphics, the rewarding quests, and the large number of stages, Grand Chase is far too repetitive. Its not just the fact that I had to play the very first level no less than 5 times, but more importantly the combat system is extremely dull. In an interview the developers specifically mentioned that Grand Chase was designed NOT to be a button masher but that happens to be exactly what it is. Even the ranged classes will end up walking right next to monsters and spamming one button until the monster is defeated. The horrible AI means the monster being attacked is almost certain to simply stand still and wait to die. At first this is great since it means players can rush through levels and collect their amazing quest rewards but that can only keep players excited for so long. Even the boss fights are rarely a challenge, especially if playing with 3-4 people.
Besides the main cooperative mode, Grand Chase offers a PvP Battle but like main mode, there are very few active players. The only channel players can expect to find a battle is the free channel where they will stand little chance against far more powerful players. But even with enough players, the small map sizes and 2D graphics guarantee that anything besides a 1v1 will quickly devolve into chaos. There is also a ‘Park’ channel where players can move around and chat but not much else. With a low game population and repetitive, dull combat Grand Chase is a difficult game to recommend. As a casual game, or a game for a younger audience, Grand Chase could prove to be quite entertaining. Fast experience rates mean players will likely level every stage and with each stage taking only a few minutes to complete, players can expect rapid character growth which makes Grand Chase ideal for those without hours to burn each day.

I love Grand Chase!I have Ronan lvl 23 Arme lvl 25 Elesis Lvl 19 Lass Lvl 25 and Lire Lvl 23
Good game,if you want to spend a couple bucks to get the good wepons/armor, advance a class, and unlock the best chacters e.i lass and ronan. all in all good game a bit costly though
Wow, I play GC and it look like u made this review after u play the game for a little bit. First I got to say the graphic might be cartoonist but it require skill to play, especially in PvP. Second, as u get higher lv, it harder to lv, way harder. It does not take 1 dungeon to lv up once, and higher lv dungeon take like maybe take 30 min or more. So, just saying GC is more fun than u think.
LOL WOW
“not challenging enough”?
This is waaay more challenging that it looks
If you actually play with pros in pvp
Im telling you, you will go down in a sec.
Just saying, this game is much more harder then it looks.
Grand Chase is awesome!
It’s a great game! The only thing I dislike about it truthfully is that there is barely any customization… You can’t even make any eye/hair changes you get 3 premade characters that are all female. And have to play quite a bit to unlock the 2 other male characters. Other than the customization flaws It’s quite a fun game! I still recommend it 7/10.
this is lvl waht sia? so slow. my team can kill the boss in less then 1mins le
pretty awesome game
Fun and great game but the constant disconnects make you want to quit after a while. Fells like a disconnect every other dungeon.
its very hard to get the second job!
i didnt like this game for for the fact that there is no male chars you can start as and that most of the stuff you had to buy with real money
This is one of the best MMORPG I have ever played. My ign is my name. Peace out yall, hope to see yall in game!!!
the game is ok, The biggest flaw is that you have to buy almost EVERYTHING with real cash.
tried it. i was actually entertained for for a few days. like genuinely entertained. then i noticed that items had time limits on them… and most items worth anything use the item shop… and are still timed… and to unlock the other characters is quite an annoying process (not to mention that the “lass” character is actually a guy when lass/lassie is a term for women). and the game play got kinda repetitive. i suppose if you only play it a bit each day, it’ll stay fun. i just didn’t see myself going for a long term investment in a gauntlet-like game. oh, and at least when i was there, the community was horrible. just a bunch of morons stroking their e-cocks and insulting each other with really bad insults >.>
This game is quite fun can be challenging (especially in PvP.) It does take skill to PvP but the dungeons do not take much skill to play in. There is a gap in where there are no mission (levels 27-29) which makes this point in the game boring but it still continue to be fun because of PvP and world chat. Leveling up is difficult once you hit level 27. The level cap is 60 for players but the GM’s(Grand Masters) are level 75. There are currently 6 characers in the north America version (Elesis, Lire, Arme, Lass, Ryan, and Ronan) with 3 jobs for Elesis( swordsman, spearman, sword master) 3 for Lire( archer, cross bow, arch ranger) 3 for Arme( mage, alchemist, warlock) 2 for Lass( thief, assassin) 1 for Ryan( druid) and 3 for Ronan( spell knight, dragon knight, and aegis knight.) Itdoes lack customization if you are looking for best stats for your level, but if you are creative, have money to spend, and do not care about strength, there is quite a range or customization( money is for cash items which are not nessacary, and don’t think this limis your creativity.) Over all it is a game I would recomnd to check out.

Lire Lv28
Arme Lv20
Lass Lv20
Ryan Lv26
Ronan Lv27
Would be nice if the in-game equips, missions, etc, were worth crap. Just another game with a revenue generating scheme. And I mean scheme. Most MMOs aren’t this disgusting when it came to cash items.
the game is alright relating to combat but…the things i didn’t like about it was…
1.I downloaded the game so i could be rohan but you gotta pay for rohan to play with him, so my interest in this game went from 100% to 64%
2.this game would be alot better if it was more and adventure game, like whe you get to run around like in WOW ( not that i like WOW )so my interest in the game went from 64% to 10%
so i stopped playing
nothing but a cartoonier RUMBLEFIGHTER.
RF FTW!
this is a poor review…
GC rocks,,, play it first before you say those things
they said that it is DULL,, your review is DULL, you dont know anything about GC than “button mashing” or “poor graphics”, maybe you favored other games thats why you cannot appreciate GC
The game is extremely addicting and fun.
Leveling never feels like a grind because your almost ALWAYS in a party.
There are fun missions(quests) to do and cool outfits.
The graphics are astounding because it puts a 3D character into a 2D background on a sidescrolling base.
If your sick of the old Click’Watch’Repeat games, then this sidescrolling hack and slash is worth a try.
A major downfall is that those who pay real money receive much stronger weapons and even more skills.
But if your looking for a well-made button mashing game, Try it out now.

Wow grand chase is pretty awesome most things are in cash shop but game play is 10/10 if u like maplestory (or hate it :D) and like lunia play grand chase cause it like a combination of maplestory and lunia just check yur top rite to see those 2 games
Looks like a maple story rip off >_>
ok, if you’ve actually played it and not judge it by the freaking screen shots you would realize it is nothing like maple story or even vaguely similar to it
