Luminary Rise of the Goonzu Reviewed

Goonzu is a different kind of MMORPG due the fact that you can simply do many things aside from grinding. The game has many player run towns and an in game stock market. Players can even collect taxes from other players if that player buys / sells in that player’s town. Players can also get town positions, such a mayor, with the game’s unique political system. Luminrary’s economy is also almost entirely player run, as just about everything you buy and sell will go through the game’s Auction House, as there are only a few NPCs that buy and sell items, and they don’t offer a lot for items, do players actually have to sell items to other players.

The game is very newbie friendly, so anyone can pick up the game and learn the ropes within about 30 minutes or so. Leveling doesn’t feel like a chore either, as you have plenty of quests to do in each town you visit. The skill system is similar to RYL2, where you have to either buy or find books that level your skills. You can also gain skill by simply fighting, but that method takes an incredibly long time. Luminary has a lot of different dungeons and places to explore, and a fairly small world, so getting around isn’t too difficult.

The game also offers an item manufacturing system that adds to the player driven economy. You can’t buy armor from NPCs, thus you are forced you to buy them from other players, so item crafters are in high demand. No NPC sells weapons either, so players actually have to go to crafters to get their weapons made, which makes the crafting materials actually worth something. Just about every item that drops in Luminary actually serves a purpose. There really aren’t any “Widgets” that are meant to be sold to the Npc. Even common items are worth money to players as they can usually be used for either a quest or crafting. If you haven’t tried Luminary yet, you definitely should, it’s one of those MMORPGs that will keep you addicted for a long time.
