Neopets Review
Neopets is a unique MMO experience. It’s not a game you can really sit down and play for more than 15-20 minutes a day, but it’s a game that will keep you coming back month and month again if you get drawn into it. You start off your Neopets career by creating a Neopet, your own virtual pet. What pet you select really doesn’t do anything, but it’s a feature nonetheless. Players are encouraged to take care of their pets by feeding and playing with them, but the excitement about taking care of a virtual pet dies very fast.
Luckily, the virtual pet aspect of Neopets isn’t the most appealing part of the online game. The most enjoyable aspect of Neopets is trying to accumulate wealth and trying to collect really rare items. The easiest way to make money, also called neopoints, is to play the flash games on the Neopets website. There are literally hundreds of different flash games to play, and they aren’t the same old recycled garbage games you’ll find on those lame arcade sites, but rather they’re all custom made and unique. The games don’t feel “cheap” either, theres a sense of quality in almost every flash game on Neopets.
After playing through a flash game, you earn money based on how well you did in the game. Aside from games, you can earn money by simply buying and selling popular items on the game’s auction house. There are simply so many things you can do in Neopets that make the game enjoyable. Unfortunately, the only real player interaction in Neopets is through their Pet vs Pet battle system and through buying / selling in the game. Ultimately, Neopets is geared towards a younger audience, but it’s still worth checking out even if you’re a bit older, as the game really does have a lot to offer.
