Perfect World is an immensely popular MMORPG in China that was recently released in the United States, which means gamers won’t have to play on the Malaysian servers anymore.
Perfect World has an absolutely gorgeous game world with top-notch graphics. Start by selecting one of three available races - Human, Wing Elves and Beast Kind. Each race has two unique classes. Humans can be either Magicians or Warriors; Wing Elves can become either Archers or Priests; and Beast Kinds can become either WereBeasts (Tanks) or Werefoxes (Think Druid).
After selecting your class you’ll be given the choice to customize your character. I strongly recommend you give this a try as Perfect World has amazing character customization. Players can change everything from their skin color to the spacing between their eye brows, and female characters can even change their breast size!
I actually went out of my way to make my character look as strange as possible, and I think I’ve done an excellent job. Just take a look at the closeup screenshot below the review.
After making your character and getting started, you’ll probably be disappointed to learn the game doesn’t offer any type of tutorial. However, Perfect World isn’t too difficult to learn since the game’s user interface isn’t anything unique.
When I first entered the game, I immediately began to grind. I decided to ignore the quest-giving NPCs in town, and hack and slash my way through leveling, but I quickly discovered that leveling was extremely slow. There had to be something wrong, as getting to level three took over an hour!
I decided to head over to town and check out the game’s questing system. I was surprised to learn that Perfect World actually rewards players for doing quests! Unlike most MMORPGs where questing yields worse experience than grinding, Perfect World encourages questing over grinding. The game’s quests are mostly “Kill X number of Y monster”, but this isn’t exactly a bad thing, as instead of just grinding, you can grind and complete quests at the same time!
Although Perfect World’s questing system gives lucrative experience, the English translations are incredibly poor. Requiring players to spend a few minutes trying to decipher what some NPCs are saying takes away from Perfect World’s story line. NPC dialogue is an absolute joke.
One useful feature is the game’s detailed map. Players can simply select a location on the map, and their avatar will automatically run towards it. Although this isn’t exactly a breakthrough, it is incredibly useful for long runs.
Another interesting aspect of Perfect World is the game’s massive player-run economy and crafting systems. The game features an auction house, similar to that in World of Warcraft and a crafting system where players have to collect resources outside town (think mining and herbalism from WoW}. One unique feature in the game’s crafting system is you are actually rewarded with additional experience working on trade skills and harvesting resources.
Perfect World also has an interesting skill system - skill points are separated from actual levels and can be distributed across a Diablo-like skill tree. One strange thing about Perfect World is the game’s double jumping ability. The fact that you can double jump isn’t exactly a drawback, but the fact that you can jump 20 feet in the air is definitely a bit strange. Players can actually jump on top of the game’s largest buildings and scout miles ahead, simply jumping high enough.
Perfect World has so much to offer, from flying mounts to a marriage system, that it’s definitely worth trying.

This game is deffinately worth the download but the download is very big. But hey I made some characters that looked exacly like tekken characters lol My best friend made Arnold Schwartznigger. lol
This game made me delete wow.. WOW is sad compared to this game.. it’s hard to believe but true. - I can’t wait for the Int’l version because the dialogue in the Malaysian version is … mostly broken English. (Which I suppose you’ve come to understand if you’ve been playing F2P’s for a while anyways haha.)
I like the graphics in this game. I’m also waiting for the International version because of the lag..

For the ID Card #, I put 133713371337 I believe. You can put any random numbers and it works.

only thing i can say is simply one of the best mmorpgs out there. it is so much better than wow in every way. its got amazing graphics complete character customization and its HUGE.only 2 complaints. 1 is that u level really slow, ive played for 4 hrs today and am only level 9. 2nd they show no helmets(but who cares when u have a kickass custom character :D)

I like the game i just lags ALOT when you do anything.
I’ve heard that the MY version is superior to the Internation version simply based on the fact that the cash shop items are horribly overpriced (highway robbery, ripoff) for the international version.
This game is hard to find the only download on the net that actually works but when you do it is worth the wait graphics are gorgeous and smooth ive only just started so couldnt comment on lastability but seems good so far even though somewhat slow in finding any interesting quests at the mo but time can only tell

The international version is out and this game is good customer characterization is in full beautiful graphics and a massive world to play in lovely game slow to grind through lvls though as maddog said but still worth downloading even if you just play when you stressed to relax yaself again sweet calming music awwwwwwwww

Download is about 1hour-2hours (atleast for me) and ppl thats 10+ can definatly play this all u need is a brain and some good sense :p!
From all the MMORPGs out there, i think this is the most funny of all. When i played this one i was kinda surprised to see high end Beasts in the low lvl area. Dunno if this was a Event back then, but i liked it.
What i don´t like is the 3-Player Style- but good Graphics, “Grindy” also a medium paced leveling.

Perfect World Int is a very good game. I enjoyed it but I do have some problems. The skill system is fine except it costs in game gold, which monsters dont drop much of. If you afk a shop for a few hours you may be able to sell things from monster drops. The spirit is not the problem with getting your skills leveld or learning new ones its the gold. Inflation is also a problem, things are over priced, in game and cash shop. This game trys to hard to get your RL money. I’m currntly lvl 36 but I am seriously debating about quiting, just because of the skill system.
The best way to gain money is to join a clan and wait your 100hrs in clan. Then you can participate in a TW and get money that way. Problem is that monsters in the TW area’s are in the 70’s. So you need to have a clan of lvl 50+ to accomplish correctly.
I do like the game very much however. The graphics are awsome even on their lowest settings, character creation is extensive, and lvling is moderatly fast. (If you do quests)
I do recomend this game but with a warning, SAVE YOUR GOLD!

WELL where to start off u think the leveling is slow go and play maplestory if u wanna see slow lol. to many games to play ohh my whee to start runescape is still the best bye far but f2p is always gabage nomatter what game u play. this game dont lagg very much for me thou must be ur guys computers.

Does this game take a good computer to play? I can play WoW on the lowest settings only, since my computer starts getting choppy and lagging on the higher settings in WoW. I’m also on dial up, since where I live (in the middle of the woods… far from city) I can’t get high speed cable.

I’m kinda computer illiterate, so I don’t know much! Be patient! I am playing WoW now, and DLing this stupid patch which is taking DAYS for me, since my slow connection, and it’s a huge patch even for high speed people. I’m sick of paying $15 a month for this, if I can play for free!

I played the beta version and I just love the wing elves. Level 1 flight form ftw ;p

worth to try out i like it but takes alot to get in to it.
I’ve been playing PW for about a month now and im a lvl 43 veno(Get pets) I have to say, like allot of the posters have, that the graphics are great for a free game. The leveling isn’t that bad as a veno either. I can’t say the same for other classes since I’ve never played them before but I leveled 4 times just this weekend so like I said its not bad.
In game money isn’t that hard as a veno either. As of posting I have nearly 1.5 mil just from selling drops to the NPC’s.
The quest system is fine and there are allot of quests. I mean allot! Some things on the other hand during the quests are hard to find but that brings me to another point. The community is just great. Ask someone a question and your bound to get several responses with helpful suggestions. The same goes for getting a party together. Been able to get a party together in only a few minutes. But I’ve been able to solo as well were a party is needed just by waiting for a few levels so its up to you.
The one thing I don’t like is the online store. Its way overpriced so you may want to stay clear of it or at least keep an eye on what you spend there. Also depending on what server you play on (There are 3, 2 pvp and 1 pve) you may never need to use it. The online shop isn’t a must in order to enjoy the game. You get flying mounts for free but they are a little slow. If you don’t mind waiting a little longer to go from one place to another then you’ll never need to buy one from the shop. Or you can use the teleport system instead. Costs a small fee(In game money).
Also once an hour there are wraith raids that are announced and if you go to the locations of the mobs you get extra drops and XP so that’s a nice change as well.
As far as the manufacturing goes it is really vague on how to do it but they now have a video on the main site that explains quite a bit and like I said if you need help you can always ask someone. Actually I’ve been able to figure it out without much effort and I’m not that bright!
Overall I think if you haven’t tried this game you should at least give it a shot and then decide.
The game is one of the best I have played online. I have played several games including WoW,RF Online(private and Official),Runescape, and even ACE Online. Currently I play only Perfect World and ACE Online.The leveling is slow to a point, but not quite as bad as RF Online where you can grind for a week and not level. The quests are numerous and You can even have the game find you a quest if You need on. Crafting is not all that hard..you go to NPC, choose manufacture, then choose what to make. It tells you what You need and how many of that item is needed for crafting. Once everything is present in your inventory you select start and its made. Not exactly rocket science. In fact, the game is easy to pick up if You have any experience at al with games on the PC.Unlike some games, the cash shop items can be traded as well, so if you cant afford using real cash, you may be able to buy an item with in game currency. Its pretty well rounded as well.
Pick up EVERYTHING you see on the ground and either sell it or use it to make your gear. Do the quests, some are long runs and some seem like sombody actually spent a little time on the story, (broken english aside). Quests tend to drop nice gear too. I’m only level 19 but, I like it so far.
okay so this game is amazing i play the international version which is amazing.. and i cant wait for December 1st for the expansion im ecstatic about it.. i know the download is really long but it is worth it..WAY worth it!

pretty fun game but pretty big download. The graphics arent as good as i thought they would be but they are good. And whats with this slow lvling? I lvled up to lvl 15 in like 2 hours. I hate that only certain races can be certain classes. Like why cant a beast guy be a blademaster? or a human be an archer or cleric? this game is simply the most creative and best free MMO that exists today. Some others come close, but this one has a little bit of everything. Some of the music, alone, would get me to play it… the music is just epic and heroic similar to the American version of Final Fantasy II and III for SNES (except not in midi form hehe). BTW they fixed a lot of the download sites so they all should work however my friend still can not seem to get it to work on his system which has Vista. Not sure what’s up with that?
I’m not going to sit here and write up a huge review, and like MANY games this game is much better than WoW…. but you can’t even compare this to WoW. It’s a totally different style of MMO. I just like dissing WoW because of how many people get addicted to it when it’s basically a mid-grade game and never was as fun as EQ anyway. =p

You should try to download a different version. Many of them are courpted.
By the way: on the bottom of the download page there are over 15 different sites to download from. Make sure to download the International version.
For me, I was left empty-handed by this game. The graphics and character customization are astonshing, but for me its all about gameplay.
I enjoy hack and slash games and moving around while fighting.
But in Perfect World, its just another Click-Watch-Bash numbers
And I dont want to sit back and watch my character attack.
But I still reccommend it for anyone who likes this type of game.
I still rate it 3/5 just because it will attract many types of gamers. Except me.
Not as good as I expected. Quests are boring…kill X amount of Y monsters. You’ll see a couple of the monster type you’re hunting mixed with many others, so I usually spend alot of time just looking for the monster I want to kill. Only 3 races, each with 2 subclasses. Character customization is the best of any MMORPG I’ve played. I think I spent more time making my character than actually playing the game. Graphics is good if your computer can handle the high setting. Towns are so big you’ll waste alot of time just moving from one NPC to the next. It’s probably more fun at higher levels, but there’s just not enough fun to keep me interested. Yeah I quit the game LOL

Biggist downfall I have ever seen in this game…
is the private owned shop system. as players tend to over populate the main central City with shop stool every where and it can Lag Up the game terribly even till the point your processors would just stop and give up. and while this is happening, their Auction House system is terribly ignoored.
Unlike WoW on the other hand, their Auction House system is almost unbeatable, with selectable item categories, level ranges and even if you don’t know the item name you can still find the item through the sub item category tabs.
All what i am against is privetly owned shops being placed at almost any location, thus enabling players to really crowd up the game.
other then the Privetly owned shops, I got an issue with Must PvP after lv30. this really can discourage new players to get a decen grasp on the game’s features. As I so deeply wished there was a choice between a PvP server and a Non-PvP server. and even if you were to be in a Non-PvP server, i wish they could have added a Dueling system o that players can test their skills with other players around their level. rather then going PvP against a player 5 times your level whether you like it or not after lv30.

The game is very good, fun. I have played it on my other computer. And I recommend it to anyone. If you can, try to download the Malaysin version. There are less people and you can actually get things done, unlike in international there is way too many people.
My husband and I downloaded this game to try, and we were not impressed with it at all. We are both taking a break from EQ2 and were looking for a free one to play for a while. The translations are not very good, and I hate that I have to click and hold the right mouse button to move the camera view to keep it behind my character while running.
The lack of tutorials and information on this game is another con, as well as the forced PvP after lvl 30. The “fashions” of the female characters leave a lot to be desired as well. The only good point I can see to the game was the character customization.
yo this game is freakin incredible. seriously. if you had to pay every month to play this game then it would still be worth it! ok some pros and cons:

+yes it does take a lil bit to dl but its worth it so just deal
+3 races have 3 different starting towns if your an archer you dont really get to see what a wizard gets to fight for the first 20 lvls. but its all good after lvl 20 or so you will meet at a central spot with all races.
+the central spot i just mentioned is exactly that, and it can get laggy.
+grinding can be boring…zzz….but just get a party together, pretty fun then.
well more pros and a few more cons but i dont feel like typin anymore

from playing this game i can tell you some of the following
(I’m on LC server(PVP server) so no input on PVE servers)
-wizards will always be underdogs in pvp
-Territory wars, wonderful impossible to get into a faction that wins atm unless ur 70+ and join one 1 of 4 factions that r beast
-Mounts, get 1 as soon as ur lvl 40 they help alot, walking is for noobs ^^
-Moneyand how to get, if u do tw u get paid,Holy Hall,grind,merchent(dont recommend i find it borin)
-KOS-Kill on Sight, if ur in the PVP server factions sometimes have these because drama or pvp related problems ya its a bitc when ur lvl 70 gettin pked by lvl 90+ player..
-Archers pretty muc the alrite class for pvp through the game
-BMs-Stunners
-Venomecers-if they have a phoneix dont mess with them
-Clerics-healers
-Exp is ok with fb’s and a daliy quest at lvl 30 and another 1 added on to that 1 at lvl 70
-overall good game kinda slow lvlin at lvl 60+ unless u play constantly everyday…

Alot of people are saying that the lvling is very slow. Stop grinding and go quest, re rolled my bm and got me a panda barb just 2 days ago and im almost lvl 30 already, all quest no grinding. Just quest ppl its funner anways than Grinding

well i got the game working 2 days ago and it is realy fun lvling is easy for me but i always do quests firs also i know how to get mony realy fast in the game insted of picing up just your itoms form monster pick up as much as u can and sell it all
