The User Interface in Rappelz reminds me of WoW’s User Interface, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Managing your inventory, skills, and character in Rappelz is straight forward. There are three races in Rappelz and your class choices will be determined by which race you pick. You’ll begin on a relatively small island which basically serves as the beginner zone and a tutorial. The first few times the NPCs send you out one of the many gates leading outside the beginner town to kill things, you will enjoy yourself, but the quests repetitive very quickly. After some grinding, you’ll be able to pick which skills you want to master. If you put points in summoning you’ll be able to use pets to assist you. Even if you don’t specialize in summoning, all players should put some points in the summoning skill in order to make use of the mounts, which greatly increase movement speed. Rappelz introduces large patches in the form of “epics”. The North American version of Rappelz is currently on Epic 4. Skill sets and other features can change a lot between patches so be sure to visit the official site to learn more about upcoming patches.
