Risk your Life 2 (RYL2) really doesn’t offer anything new to the realm of free MMORPGs, but the game does have a very redeeming feature, the fast leveling. When I first made my character, I would level up after each kill. Getting to level 10, the level you get to pick your next job, took only six minutes or so. Players can choose from the four starting classes; Mage, Rogue, Acolyte or Fighter. Each class can choose from two possible advancements upon reaching level 10.
One drawback to RYL2 is that it has an annoying skill system, where you have to purchase books in order to improve your skills, and without skills you really can’t kill anything, especially mages. As a beginner, you won’t be able to buy any skills, let alone any equipment unless you find a higher level player to beg. This is one of those games where you HAVE to ask for money from a higher level player if you expect to stay on top of your skills and equipment. You have to buy skill books every time you want to level the particular skill up as well, making skills even more pricey. Upon reaching higher levels, you won’t be able to buy skill books from the local NPC, so you’ll have to buy them from other players, usually at incredibly high prices. I personally dislike the entire skill book system. Even newer games like Florensia use the skill book system, but I find it an absolute chore. Why should I have to run all the way back to town every time I level up just to advance my skills? It’s simply time consuming!
The game also has some unusual bugs. As a mage or archer you may fail to kill a monster by the time it gets close enough to you to do melee damage, and if you turn around and run away to gain some distance between you and the monster to continue casting or attacking freely, the monster may already be running back to where it was originally. If this is the case, you won’t get any EXP for killing it, making it mandatory for mages and archers to kill monsters before they get close enough to hit you, or fight in melee range. In addition, sometimes some of the monsters you kill are obviously stronger than other monsters with the same exact name and appearance. These stronger monsters will do 5-10x the damage of their “normal” counterparts and have 10x the hp than their “normal” counterparts, but give the same experience, so it’s best to avoid them. RYL2’s fast leveling makes the game really fun and worth playing if you’re looking to try a new MMORPG.

That guy wasn’t very good… Normally you buy MORE THAN 1 skill book and gain a couple levels. When you’re an archer/mage, you also DON’T do melee combats lol
You run around hitting them, so they won’t get outside their reach zone (If they do, they get back in it)
And no, you don’t start off like him. Notice that was a warrior, and not a very strong one. The game is freaking amazing, honestly. It’s really worth the download.

The game looks fun even if the whole skill book thing i find equally annoying as you do. Also i couldn’t help but notice that the person who made that video is definitely a Bleach freak lol.

Well, it is a good game but it is also one infested with bugs. You can get abnormal termination which closes the client any time when you play and the customer support doesn’t seem to be of any use. If the bugs are solved, this would be an impressive game.
