Secret of the Solstice Review
The first thing you’ll notice about Secret of the Solstice is how similar it is to Ragnarok Online. Today, MMOs borrow features and styles from each other all the time, but it seems Outspark took it to the limits here. If you look at side-by-side screenshots of both games, you’ll immediately notice that Secret of the Solstice is a total knock off of Ragnarok Online. Thats not exactly a bad thing, as Ragnarok Online has simple and sleek graphics and is an overall great game. To give Outspark a little slack, the game does feel a bit more modern than Ragnarok, as graphics are a tad upgraded and visuals seem more vibrant. You can choose to become either a Squire, Apprentice, Neophyte or an Acolyte. Anyone can deduce that a squire is a Warrior and an Acolyte is a healer, but what in the world is an Apprentice and a Neophyte? Well, the Apprentice is a magician and the Neophyte is a rogue. Why in the world couldn’t Outspark just name Apprentice a magician and the Neophyte a rogue? It would have made a lot more sense.
The beginner quests will introduce you to the game and level you almost as high as you need to be for your first job advancement. The early game monster designs are cute and you’ll enjoy yourself through the early levels, as experience is fast and monster designs are creative. Monsters even drop scrolls which will teleport you back to town! How useful! Unfortunately, once you pick your 1st job advancement, leveling becomes slower. The community isn’t very large but they are helpful. The official forums are full of other players answering newbie questions, and a great place to go if you need help. If you’re looking for a simple free game similar to Ragnarok, this is the game for you.

Yea this game was really fun. The only thing that got me to stop playing it was how half the monsters retained the same name and the quests called them something different. The fighting in RO is much better though.
