Silkroad Online is 3D Fantasy MMORPG based on the historical Silk Road Trade Route. The Mid and End game PvP in Silk Road is unique, where you can choose to be either a Merchant, Thief or a Hunter. Merchants make money by buying items from one town and selling them at another while they employ hunters to protect them from thieves who try to steal their trade goods. Currently you can play as either Chinese or European. Eventually, a third, Arabic race will be added.

Silkroad Online Review
Silk Road is one of the better 3D Free to Play MMORPGs. The game is based on a historic trade route that spanned from China to Europe. Similarly, there are two Factions in the game as of now, the Chinese and the Europeans. While they differ slightly, Silk Road’s game play is similar between both factions. The European classes are Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, Warlock, Bard and Clerick. Yes SilkRoad online spells “cleric” as “clerick” for some reason. The Chinese classes are Swordsman, Spearman, Bowman and Mage. The thing is, You can be a little bit of every class if you want, so long as you distribute your skill points across every area. There are no definite classes, but if you build your character correctly, you’ll be one of the classes mentioned.
Like all other MMORPGs, you hunt to level up, and leveling makes you stronger and lets you raise your stats. The catch however is, your skill points are gained separately from your experience. As you fight, there is a green bar and when it fills you gain a skill point. Its important to concentrate on mastering a single type of skill, since skill points get harder and harder to gain. Spreading your skills all over the place is a quick way to ruin your character, as your character won’t excel in any one thing.
SilkRoad has lots of interesting features, for example the Berserk Mode. As you fight, your character’s Berserk meter will fill and once it does, you can temporarily turn into a powerful demon and deal a lot more damage. This is an interesting way to add some originality to the grinding process. You can also rent a mount to get from place to place faster. As you level, you can participate in PvP throughout Asia and Europe. If you haven’t already played SilkRoad, you should definitely give it a try.

The game looks promising, but depending on when you try to log in, all the servers can be full.

This game has pretty good graphics considering it’s a free game. I quit early cause it was boring and I had no one to play with. The game is fun just repetitive if you don’t have a partner to play with. Another flaw of this game is trying to connect. If the server you try joining is full ( which it always is ), then it says server is full and kicks you out the game making you relaunch.
Then you have to keep typing in your password to login and hope you’re able to join the server. It needs a hell of alot more servers and it’s more fun and won’t get as boring if you play with your friends. I did at first but they stopped…

I used to like this game… until I realized that every single quest was the same and the grind became longer and longer and LONGER, eventually it was taking almost 1 hour and a half just to go up one level fighting the same exact monsters… BORING.
However the one thing about this game that kept it fun was the sheer amount of players.. tons of em!

Whoever made that review had no idea what they were talking about. It doesn’t get any “harder” to get skill points later on; you simply need MORE. a *lot* more. Its possible to gain just as many SP at level 70 as it is at level 7. It just requires a heck of a lot more.
This game in a nutshell, for anyone who is wondering:Awesome gameplay, good graphics, but some real problems-botting, hacking, etc. If Joymax would clean up the messes (again, things like botting…not to mention glitches) and made it more presentable like WoW, SRO would be a DEFINITE contender for best MMO ever. No questions asked.

Hey, Above is my silkroad online name. I have been playing silkroad online less and less, although the botting has pretty much come to a halt. The game is getting boring and glitchy. PvP is fun, but it doesn’t last long enough to actually have fun with it. The game is great though, but the skill point and exp system sucks. First it’s 1 skill point for a skill, then it will be 10,000 for the next at some other high level. About 95% of all the higher levels cheated in some way: Botting, having high level characters do all the killing, hacking, etc. I wouldn’t recommend trying this game out. Even if you hit level 90, you just get hacked, then you start over again. Have fun with that.

firstly, it is a good game, but not cuz of the lvling ur right its a slow grinding process, but it only depends on how u go about it.. u can farm all ur sp in the lvl20s and keep a zero gap the rest of the way and gain a level every hour or so for a while til u hit 40s, and botting? its in EVERY mmorpg, i dont care which 1 it is, if it has gamegaurd, hackprevent, w/e. botting is always gonna b there cuz no matter how much a company cracks down on it theres always another loophole… and a lot of companies give up when they realise not only that point, but the 2nd point of “oh no when we ban these people they quit and we lose players and money!” so they stop. the pvp is fun and the trader/hunter/thief view of the game is very unique and its a thrill regardless of whether or not u actually run into thieves, or if u even defeat the hunters and rob the trader. its an edge of ur seat experience like no other mmorpg offers, graphics are good and the monsters are at least always changing, if u kill one lvl20 monster, there might b a lvl21 version and even a lvl22 version, but theres also another monster in the same lvl area so ur never stuck killing the same thing constantly, very wide array of monsters to the game. and it has capture the flag when u just wanna play around with ur character and see what it can do, and should u build a jaw-dropping guild then maybe fortress wars is ur thing.. defending ur fortress from onslaughts of other guilds? sounds good to me, u have to give the game a chance just like ne other mmorpg cuz none of them are shockingly fun right when u start out, and if u find one that is plz, feel free to e-mail me with the game name or a link to it i’d happily give it a go! =) (e-mail is thecancanman@aol.com) -oh and as for the servers being full issue; each server has a time zone tendancy so find out what times ur usually going to b playing or logging in and find the server thats busiest at the exact opposite hours, i play on pacific which is usually next to empty during the late afternoon-evening hours but once early morning hits its packed

J I am so with you on how this game is, but not like any other mmo, I have been hacked on about 5 characters, this was back before the European side came and it was just the asians. I got hacked for all the SOS gear my characters had. I stopped playing after my lvl 90 cursed healer got hacked. That was shortly after the release of the euro side got into it. This game is fun but if you know if the hacks have stopped I would gladly come back to this game and leave perfect world. But till than PW is my new maintnance day game.
by bremstone, on 09.24.08 @ 12:30 am
Yea i just got back into it today. It seems they are trying to get the botters out again. The lag isnt as bad as it was.
by Oh Wells, on 09.25.08 @ 11:05 pm
Well, if the lag is out.. are the botters still at it?
cause.. i might come back to this..

they are trying to get rid of the money bots, but the people that are using bots to better only their character and do some plvling are probably there to stay for the most part, but yes they are getting rid of a couple thousand or more every few weeks or so. and i can see the pros and cons to the money bot boot and the lvling bot safety but if u have higher lvl friends to help u get ur sp farming out of the way early on near i’d say lvl20 then u dont really need one, other than that i can understand peoples use of a lvling/farming bot because i can grind for sp all day and only get 500-1000 at around lvl20, but if i get a plvl all day i can make thousands easily… so it just depends, best to make plenty of friends tho and join a guild as well and if u are having lag trouble (especially in town with all the masses of people) try holding down your ‘v’ key it makes all other players invisible until u release the button (keep in mind monsters will b invisible too but they are still there regardless) hope that helps u guys, i play on pacific if u’d like to join me, character name is XHeartagramX
