Tales of Pirates Review
Playing Tale of Pirates will quickly remind you of games like Ragnarok Online and Secret of the Solstice. The graphics and even game play itself are virtually identical. If you’ve played either of those games, playing Tale of Pirates will come second hand to you. The game starts off by letting you choose one of the four available races, which determines your class.
After picking your character, and selecting one of the three starting towns, you can begin playing. Every city has the usual array of blacksmiths, potion shops, and quests, so it doesn’t really matter which city you start in. One unique characteristic of this game is that it provides you with all the newbie equipment you’ll need. Every character starts off with a box with a level restriction on it. Once you hit the required level, you can open it, and inside the box is a set of basic equipment and another box, that has an ever higher level restriction on it. Inside that box is even more free equipment. You can still buy other weapons and armor, but this is an innovative way to help out newbies, especially those that are new to MMORPGs in general.
The game also has a sea component to it where you can grind in the ocean or explore other cities. Upon reaching level 15 you can purchase your first ship and start exploring. Fighting in the sea is very similar to grinding on land, as you gain experience for defeating enemies. Every 15 or so levels you can purchase a newer and more powerful ship at the dock. If you’re the enterprising type, you can make a good amount of coin by buying items from one port and selling it at another.
One of the biggest downsides to Tales of Pirates is that you only gain two stat points each level, making each level progression feel insignificant. Another huge downside is that, whenever I died, my game would crash. This could be an isolated incident, or a problem that affects all Vista users. The game has its fair share of bugs, but is definitely worth trying.

ToP is fun and all, but more often then not you can get lost while doing quests, since instructions from quest-givers usually amount to “Go east and kill this”. What’s nice, though, is the mapping system which uses longitude and latitude to point out where to go next inside a town.
Um, and it does crash often for me, as well, and I’m an XP user. Sometimes it’ll even crash my computer! I get the blank black screen of death, and then I have to unplug my computer to restart the darn thing, since not even ctrl+alt+delete helps.
And Ami’s have pathetic defense.

Good game, it realy is. It also crashed for me too. Worth a try. But be ready 2 restart ur computer and even re-create your chacter.
I downloaded the game like 20 times and every time i select the server i want to get on it says “Connection Failed” how do i play?

I love this game really. Leveling can get hard if you’re alone, but this game has pretty friendly people as far as I’ve seen. Still, I’m the solo type of person no matter what Lol.
The game doesn’t crash for me, I use Vista too. It is a bit slow when it comes to loading and when I die but thats about it. It’ll probably crash one day though…

This game is awesome!
For some reason my computer hasn’t crashed, and I’ve been playing for a few weaks now! I have a lv45 Sharpshooter and I am a loner. I suggest if your a cruz, swordsman, hunter, Sharpshooter, or voyager play by yourself, it gives you better exp and no-one anoys u with ks.
I suggest if your starting of go for a swordsman don’t go explorer (hard to play first up)

i played it like ALOT! great graphics…quests are great as you can travel in land and also at sea. maps are HUGE! thats why the game has the coordinates system ^^ and the classes are great too. i tried all of them till level 60 with each one but my main character was a crusader ( swordsman —> crusader ) and to say the truth, crusaders are the best classes in game. yeas u have to go nuts cuz of the real money you pay in the item mall at high levels to get good stuff or you can just go real crazy to try to have enough in game money to buy stuff. its really hard though. business is kinda everything in this game. you have to know very well whats the prices of this and that cuz there’s always lots of ppl selling and you will be one of those too. business means a lot.
well i’ve written a lot but seriously this is one must play game. free to play and comes with lots of fun and addicting non stop days playing. i’ve played it like for 3 years non stop. the only reason i stopped was cuz my main char ( yoZz ) was hacked. i lost all my equips and fairy and gems and bla bla. only my equips and fairy were worth around 200m. geez fuk i was so fuking mad when it happened. wuz lvl 74…geez. oh and btw…game is really hard to lvl up once you’re lvl 45…well not if u do hexalthon

Well i must say i saw allthese comments and i have played the game to but i only quit becuase when my computer broke for like 2 months and all my friends i jsut got bored because there was no one to chat and kill with so thats why i quit but for anyone whos not played the game you should try it and as yoOz said you will not regret it . this is the greatest game i have ever played. i love mmos but none have kept my attentiona s long as ToP has. it is super easy to lvl and the community is great. it hasn’t crashed at all for me.
i love this game i think its second to maple story. i have a lvl 51 sharp shooter and a lvl 43 Cruz.its awesome only wish it was a bit easier to lvl at high lvls.

TOP is a very good game i like it more than flyff or others this vidéo is a noob one the quests aren’t very good. But the others sides of the game are prety good the pvp, the bosses, to find a good stuff ^^ go register and play.
