With Your Destiny (WYD) is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG that looks like Diablo 2 with a slight face lift. Simple point and click based game play make WYD an easy learn, but the lack of a tutorial makes getting skills difficult. Character customization is non existent and there are only four playable classes.

With Your Destiny [WYD] starts off on a disappointing note as character creation is an absolute joke. You select one of four classes, Hunter, Beastmaster, Foema [Mage] or Transknight. Each class is also bound to a specific gendar, which is totally absurd, as if you want to play a mage, you have to play as a female character. This wouldn’t be a problem if people didn’t randomly hit on you for being a female character.

Upon actually entering the game, you’ll probably expect a tutorial or some sort of introduction, but nope. You can however, check out the games official website if you’re confused, but the game runs pretty much like every other online mmorpg. Once you actually start playing combat is extremely fast and XP is gained absurdly fast. You can easily get to level 20 in an hour or so of grinding without ever having to go to town and training your skills, which will definitely help in keeping you hooked, as each level brings stat points and additional skill points.

One major drawback to WYD is that mages in the first 50 or so levels will feel absurdly underpowered compared to the melee classes, because spells simply aren’t worth casting. A spellcasters melee attack will do more damage than their spells for the first 20 or so levels, even if you dedicate all your attribute points to intelligence. In addition to spells being absolutely worthless early game, mages don’t even get a starting spell, you’ll need to go and train to be able to cast. I strongly recommend your first character to be one of the melee classes, as they’re much easier to play and much stronger, at least early on.

Another major drawback is the fact that WYD is plagued with some rather obscure bugs. Monsters don’t attack you back half the time, which makes leveling easier, but a good deal of the challenge out of the game. Another bug or simply unexplained feature is the fact that players randomly regenerate all their HP back instantly while fighting. You’ll never have to actually sit down and wait for your HP to regenerate, as it fills up automatically while you fight. I Can’t tell if this is a bug of a part of the game, because WYD never tried to explain it.

WYD’s fast paced leveling and PvP system do make the game interesting. Unfortunately, players can’t participate in the faction vs faction PvP system until they hit level 220. PvP does seem rewarding however, as you can actually earn experience points from killing members of the opposing faction in designated PvP zones. Unfortunately, with the games small high level population, PvP doesn’t seem all that exciting. WYD is definitely worth playing, especially if you’ve played through a lot of other MMORPGs and are aiming to kill some time.
