Racing Star: Come On Baby
"Racing Star: Come on Baby" is a "Mario Kart"-like racing MMO -- but with babies. The game features everything you'd expect in a kart racer -- weapons, team play, different modes -- but, with babies.
If seeing babies racing each other while trying to make each other crash isn't enough to get you to play... Maybe you're a robot?

Review
Currently in Open Beta by AlaPlaya, the European publisher of Fantasy Tennis, Florensia and S4 League, Come On Baby is a baby themed kart racer which draws its inspiration from games like Mario Kart. Developed by a Korean company, it will be interesting to see how Come On Baby competes with Kart Rider by Nexon when the Global version is released.
There are six playable babies in Come On Baby though they don’t differ much from each other. Each has a slightly different distribution of the four stats: SPE, ACC, CUV, and DEF. Players are given a basic stroller but completing the optional tutorial will reward a simple yellow kart. While the tutorial is optional, it is recommended that new players complete it since it is short and rewarding. There are plenty of game modes and other distractions in Come On Baby. Players can race with or without items enabled or play battle matches where they traverse a stage and collect items to pummel each other with. Come On Baby also has a ‘Baby Park’ where players can walk around off their karts and explore a theme park. There’s not much to do in this park besides walk around, chat, buy some items, and participate in a few random events. Another distraction is the mini game mode, though it doesn’t seem to be very popular at this time.
There are currently 15 racing tracks and they are remarkably well designed. Boosters move from side to side, platforms move up and down, timing is important to avoid falling to your death and since obstacles are constantly moving, players must always be on the look out. There is a small single player component which involves license tests though they require a certain amount of experience to attempt. Come On Baby has a Clan system called “Clubs” where players can form clubs and participate in tournaments. In order to customize a character’s appearance or purchase new vehicles, players must visit the shop. There are three types of vehicles, stroller, car, and pet. Riding baby dinosaurs and other animals would really spice things up, but unfortunately most of the vehicles, cloths, and other items are only available with real cash as opposed to the in game currency called ‘corn’.
Come On Baby is a game with some potential. With more game modes than the Kart Rider beta, Come On Baby could really take off if it were not for the weird baby theme. I don’t know who’s idea that was but I find it more frightening than cute. The game play is simple, the graphics are fitting, and the items don’t seem to unbalance the game as badly as the items in Mario Kart do. Aimed at the European market, the game’s population is rather weak and many players don’t speak English well. This along with the nearly unreadable game text and lack of graphic settings add blemishes to this otherwise decent game. If you’re looking for a casual PC kart racer thats similar to Mario Kart, look no further than Come On Baby — at least until Kart Rider is released.
