I don't know if it's the same in other parts of the world, but here in Australia we love our pool (or billiards). 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Snooker -- you name it, we play it, and down at the local pub almost anyone will offer you a friendly game. We do have a slightly adjusted set of rules; however they rarely affect the game. Over here, we love to sledge. We call each other names, make funny faces, and even dance a little on occasion. Anything goes, as it were, and if you can say something to throw the other player off their game, then we're all for it. The new online game sensation "Cue Online" has a slightly different variation to those rules, but the in-game table chat opens up the path for a wonderful amount of good old-fashion sledging. Let’s just pray the GMs don’t find out.

As you can probably imagine, "Cue Online" plays out pretty much the same as any real game of pool, and they've pulled out all the stops when it comes to game variation and cue control. There are four available game types – 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Snooker and 14-1 -- and all of them have been designed to follow the “world rules” system. Cue control is equally impressive, allowing you to take control of the stick like you would in real life. You can aim your shot from any angle, adjust the power level, manage your chalk, and even adjust the position of the cue on the while ball to pull-off spin shots and curved slices in every angle imaginable. A process made all the better by the RPG-themed level system.

Similar to an RPG, and also real life, the more you play "Cue Online" the better you will become. Playing well awards players with experience points that can be used to upgrade, improve and style your character to your liking. Power, Accuracy, Jump Distance and the like can all be modified easily by allocating points to each upon leveling up. To take it a step further, "Cue Online" also features an in-game shop with different pool cues’ and chalks available. Earning enough cash to buy them however, isn’t always easy.
