Constructing all the required mines and other various buildings is a very time consuming process. It will be hours before you're in a position to take the next step in SpaceInvasion. Eventually your build queries will get longer and you'll have plenty of resources stored with which to start researching new technologies and putting together a fleet.

The game allows a maximum of 10 planets per player, which includes your starting colony. This means you can only claim nine other planets, so be sure to pick the ones that suit your interests. If you plan to play aggressively, try and claim planets nearby rich but weak players. If you intend to play it safe, pick large planets that are as far away from other players as possible.

No matter which route you take, it won't be long until you start to receive messages from other players inviting you to join their Alliance (clan/guild). In Space Invasion, safety lies in numbers. If you don't have a hundred or more allies standing behind you, any stronger players who happen to stumble across your colonies will raid them.

Even being part of a small Alliance makes a would-be attacker reconsider his target. Like most of BigPoint's games, SpaceInvasion thrives on the PvP component. Space Invasion could be played without ever interacting with another player, but that almost defeats the purpose. Like Cyber Nations, the most engaging moments of the game are those that involve Alliance politics and declarations of war.

Resource and base management are just a build up to the epic PvP battles that await.
