Nival Online has unveiled one of the two opposing factions in its upcoming free-to-play "AAA" MMORPG, “Allods Online.”

The Empire faction is made up of Orcs, the Arisen and the Xadaganians, forming an alliance between the races. Each of these three races are entirely playable for players who choose the Empire over the League.

Here is a quick look at each of the races:

The Orcs – Strong creatures that love their freedom. They remain faithful to the Empire because of their protection with the Xadaganians, but are still very independent within the Empire. Not much else has been said about these Orcs, but at this point, they don’t sound too intriguing.

The Xadaganians – Human warriors who are bred for battle and domination of the Astral. They build huge cities where their children are trained to become soldiers. Basically, this race is the MMORPG version of Spartans.

The Arisen – Former dead humans that now have eternal life. They have mechanical body parts and mystical body paintings. Now that is a combination that grabs my interest. If I had to choose one of these three to play, I’d choose the Arisen BY FAR because the Orcs and Xadaganians just sound too typical with the information that has been released.

“Further information on the game will be released over the coming weeks and months,” says the press release. I think that is a given and doesn’t need to be stated, but just in case you thought that they were going to just release the MMORPG without giving you a heads up, now you know that Gala Networks Europe and gPotato will not let that be the case.
