Have you ever felt like leveling up a pet in an MMORPG was boring and not as much fun as one would think it should be? Pets in MMORPGs are usually there to fight by your side, but what if there was more to it than that?

The free-to-play MMORPG "GodsWar Online" has a new journal entry written by one of its game designers, Ethan Pan.

He states that pets joining in on their master's fights and leveling up is common, but not exciting and a bit like tedious grinding. This was recognized, and so a desire to make the entire idea of leveling up a pet more intriguing became a creative project.

Basic pet duties like Fetch were given items and treasure that could be picked up and added to the master's talent points and exp. But this was not enough to satisfy the "GodsWar Online" players.

A creative dead-end plagued the design team, but out of nowhere, the project director came up with an idea: combining the pet's skills with their master's skills to make some sort of a super skill. This allows weaker pets to be combined to make stronger ones, as weird as that may sound.
