Content updates occur fairly regularly in the free-to-play MMORPG world. Nearly every day there's at least one title receiving an update of some kind. Today it's the absurdly named* "Mabinogi's" turn.

Players can now play Top Chef and "pit their cooking skills against each other" in the Emain Macha Cooking Contest, which is running all month long. The player who impresses the seven judges the most will receive a unique title and a chef's uniform.

Other new additions to the MMORPG include a set of giant dice (the release says people can use them to settle item disputes but I say it opens the doors for shady gambling), new sets of items allowing for passive bonuses to be added to characters, and "the ability for wizards to chain cast with improvements to wands with a spirit."

Apparently that allows magic practitioners to quickly accumulate charges of magic while in battle. Sounds important, but I haven't the foggiest what it means.

If you're a bottom line type of person just remember this: "Mabinogi" is adding cooking contests and big fat dice. If I was a player in this MMORPG, I'd try and set up a gambling operation centered around the cooking competition. But that's just me...

*Yes, I know it's named after the Mabinogion. The name's still terrible.
